For each of the past 28 years, Ed Hyman has been rated the # 1 economist on Wall Street by the Institutional Investor poll of investors. Ed is Chairman of ISI Group, Inc. (broker dealer) and ISI Inc. (funds management). ISI has 110 employees with offices in New York, Washington DC, and Beijing. ISI has Institutional Investor #1 research teams in five macro areas: portfolio strategy, Washington research, technical analysis, economics, and integrated oil (Independent Research category). ISI’s broker dealer clients are institutional investors in the U.S. and abroad.
Prior to forming both of these companies in 1991, he was Vice Chairman and a member of the Board of C.J. Lawrence Inc., which he joined in 1972. He was an economic consultant at Data Resources, Inc. from 1969 to 1971. He received an MBA from MIT in 1969 and a BS in Engineering from the University of Texas in 1967.
Ed is currently a Board member of The Economic Club of New York, the International Tennis Hall of Fame, and Capital Trust (NYSE: CT). He is a member of the Advisory Committee for The New York Public Library’s Financial Services Leadership Forum. He also serves on the Finance Committee of Bowdoin College and Collegiate School.
